Home

Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law is a business-focused journal for practitioners and scholars interested in modern business law. The journal publishes articles that are both scholarly and practical, addressing issues of importance to those working in the field of business law. Transactions does not limit its publications to legal issues that impact only Tennessee but covers a wide range of topics related to modern business law developments that have national and global significance.

Transactions was founded in 1998 at the University of Tennessee College of Law through a collaboration between a group of law students and the Clayton Center for Entrepreneurial Law. The journal publishes semiannually, in the Fall and Spring of each academic year.

Our editors carefully analyze and select submitted articles from well-established business law scholars, professors, and lawyers from across the country, but also review and publish student work. We take pride in making significant contributions to business law scholarship while offering career-changing opportunities to students who aspire to have their work published. If accepted by Transactions, articles go through a thorough multistep review process before publication. After the article is reviewed, the article is returned to the author for final approval.
